🚗 The Story of Footup®
An innovation born from the daily life of a mother and her son.
The invention of the FootUp car seat footrest is, above all, a family story.
It all started in January 2012, during a car ride.
My son Vincent, then 2 and a half years old, kept kicking the back of my seat. He complained of leg pain. When I turned around, I saw his little legs dangling in the air, without any support.
I remembered a moment I experienced in a bar: sitting on a high chair without a footrest, I quickly felt an unbearable numbness. This physical discomfort, so obvious to an adult, I saw it reproduced in my child, with no solution available.
In their daily lives, children always have support for their feet: strollers, high chairs, adapted furniture… Everywhere, except in the car! Yet, good foot support is essential for maintaining a stable and comfortable sitting posture.
That’s when the idea for Footup was born: an evolving, safe, and easy-to-use footrest designed to improve children’s comfort in the car.
🔬 From idea to reality: 2 years of development
For two years, I developed and tested several prototypes to create a product that was ergonomic, robust, and safe. With safety as the top priority, Footup underwent rigorous crash tests in France and Canada, validated by state testing centers.

One of the greatest rewards of this journey was receiving the
Special Prize from the French Society of Exercise and Sports Medicine.
This distinction recognizes not only the comfort provided by Footup®, but also its real impact on children’s posture in the car.
